Naming the Nebula
What’s in a name?
(written and submitted by Winnie and Conrad - Creative Discus)
Giving a name to a very improved strain of Ghost discus with special features
is not an easy task. At the same time, we felt honored to be given such
a mission.
We studied the characteristic of this discus from shape, colour, marking
and behavior.
We then visited libraries and surf the Internet. Names from animals, marine
life, plants, jewels, insects and etc were thought of. You named it; we
searched almost everywhere and everything.
It was already three weeks and still no appropriate name could be found.
The difficulty is that we wanted something special. Something that people
can relate to when they see this discus. It was at this time when we were
at our wit’s end that we noticed that the red patches of this discus
resemble cloud clusters.
The more we looked at it; we realized that we should be looking at the heaven instead. Having an interest in astrology finally paid off. We look at each other, knowing that we have found it.

We then searched the books again for “cloud clusters”, behold, the word, “NEBULA” in the Oxford dictionary means:
“luminous or dark patch in sky made by distant
star-cluster or gas or dust”
This discus carries red, gold, blue, black and
white colours. How appropriate it is!
Believed that there is no better name that
can represent this beauty,
“NEBULA” is born!!!!!!!
